Harmony in Movement follows Miroslav Kodym, a long-time Aikido sensei (teacher) from Prague. When I began filming him, he was 63; he is now 72. What began as a simple intention gradually turned into a nearly ten-year journey.

I first met Miroslav during one of his training sessions and was immediately struck by the way he taught — not only the physical techniques of Aikido, but its philosophy and deeper meaning. His ability to pass on knowledge with clarity, patience, and humility inspired me to observe him more closely.

The film follows Miroslav through his daily teachings and the quiet struggles of life. We witness moments of strength and vulnerability — illness, recovery, and his return to the dojo — always guided by his calm presence and unwavering spirit. His words carry a rare wisdom, expressing the essence of Aikido and Japanese philosophy with remarkable simplicity and grace.

The project was created with no budget. I produced, shot, edited, and completed the post-production myself, with occasional help from close friends and collaborators. It was a long and demanding process, shaped around years of work in television and film, but perhaps this independence allowed the film to remain honest and intimate.

The premiere is planned for 2026.
